Women's sathyagraha to protect Guruvayur from Atheist today6/17/2007 2:32:49 PM HK
Guruvayur: Thousands of women devotees will attend the Sathyagraha in Guruvayur Temple today, organised by BJP against the political move of Communist Party to extend their hold in Temples. DYFI’s farce Sathyagraha for the entry of Christians and Muslims into Guruvayur Temple is also today.

The Sathyagraha will be inaugurated by noted cine actress Sukumari who is synonymous with Malayalam cinema. Noted writer K.L.Mohanavarma, Film Actress Menaka etc will take part in the Sathyagraha. BJP leaders P.K.Krishnadas, P.P.Mukundan etc will also participate.

"Guruvayur is the abode of the Lord and what is the role of the Communists who are atheists in the happenings of the temple.We will oppose this by all peaceful means and this is a spontaneous reaction from the woman folk of the BJP supported by all the right thinking people." Told Sreekumar Ezhuvapady who is spearheading the agitation.
The Hindu organisations are of the opinion that the CPI-M was conducting a deliberate attempt to raise controversy in the Guruvayur temple issue as a prelude for the party to have direct influence in the administration of temples as also even in the day to day pooja activities.
